Build strength together and forge ahead on a new journey. On May 9, the opening ceremony of the Shandong Heavy Industry Group Sports and Cultural Festival and the inaugural "HiBA" Basketball League officially got underway. Hosted by Weichai Lovol Intelligent Agricultural Technology, the event aims to encourage all employees to improve their fitness, strengthen their resolve and cultivate a disciplined work ethic through athletic competition, thereby rallying greater momentum for progress and inspiring greater initiative at work. Ye Jianjun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Director, and Chairman of the Trade Union of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, attended the opening ceremony and delivered remarks. More than 120 athletes and staff from the Group headquarters and its affiliated companies took part in the event.

This year marks the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026–2030) and a pivotal year for Shandong Heavy Industry to accelerate its four strategic transformations across the board and quicken its progress toward becoming a world-class enterprise. Ye Jianjun emphasized that a new starting point, a new journey and a new leap forward call on all Shandong Heavy Industry employees to stay energized, build on current momentum and press ahead toward the grand vision of building a technology-leading, green and world-class multinational high-end equipment group. All affiliated companies should use the Sports and Cultural Festival as an opportunity to further strengthen workforce culture, making exercise a habit and perseverance a defining trait, so that the spirit of "Never Settle. Always Lead. Forever Dominate " is carried forward in every role.

The inaugural "HiBA" Basketball League features seven teams and more than 80 players. At the opening ceremony, the teams showcased their spirit one by one. The ceremony also included the singing of the national anthem and oath-taking. Over the next three weeks, the teams will battle it out for the inaugural championship title. In addition, the Sports and Cultural Festival will feature a variety of events, including badminton, table tennis and football, in the coming weeks.
