On June 26, Shandong Heavy Industry Group held a meeting to advance industrial workforce reform and honor its "Heavy Industry Craftsmen." The meeting aimed to fully implement national and provincial directives on industrial workforce reform, further advance the reform agenda, accelerate the development of a first-class industrial technical workforce, and vigorously promote the spirit of model workers, hard work and craftsmanship, injecting strong momentum into high-quality development. Wang Zhijian, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Group, attended the meeting and delivered remarks. The meeting was chaired by Ye Jianjun, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Director, and Chairman of the Trade Union.

The meeting announced the decision to honor the "Heavy Industry Craftsmen." Wang Zhijian presented "Heavy Industry Craftsman" medals to the representatives and encouraged them to continue excelling in their roles and making valuable contributions. Representatives from Weichai, SINOTRUK, Shantui, Weichai Lovol Intelligent Agricultural Technology and Zhongtong Bus shared in-depth insights and experience on industrial workforce reform. Recipients of the National May 1 Labor Medal and representatives of the "Heavy Industry Craftsmen" spoke at the meeting, sharing stories of how they have dedicated themselves to their roles, pursued technical mastery and strived relentlessly for excellence.

Wang Zhijian noted that in recent years, Shandong Heavy Industry Group has made strong progress in industrial workforce reform and achieved notable results in developing master artisans. Five employees have been selected as Craftsmen of the Nation, two as Chief Lu Ban Craftsmen, four as Qilu Master Craftsmen and 19 as Qilu Craftsmen. Next, guided by the strategic development needs of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the Group will deepen industrial workforce reform, promote the spirit of craftsmanship, and accelerate the development of a high-caliber industrial workforce that is knowledgeable, skilled and innovative. The Group will strengthen Party leadership and solidify the ideological foundation, making ideological and political work more relevant to the times, better targeted and more effective. It will continue telling the stories of Shandong Heavy Industry's craftsmen, guiding employees to strengthen their ideals and convictions and deepen their commitment to the country, while putting into practice the philosophy of "Virtue First, Craftsmanship at Heart, Success through Action." The Group will build platforms for career development and inspire employees to make their mark, helping traditional industrial workers transition toward digital and intelligent work and move into emerging industries and new business models, becoming "digital craftsmen" and "intelligent craftsmen." The Group will combine work with training to strengthen the skills foundation and accelerate the development of a workforce development system featuring global platforms, tiered training, diverse career pathways and market-based incentives. It will make full use of hands-on training platforms such as the Group's smart factories and Craftsman Academies, deepen industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, and improve the full-cycle talent development mechanism. The Group will protect employees' lawful rights and strengthen their sense of value and belonging. It will continue to stand with employees, move in the same direction and share the gains of corporate development; improve incentives for innovation and value creation as well as service and support mechanisms; and make the "Practical Services for Employees" initiative a regular practice, so that every employee can "Strive at Shandong Heavy Industry, Find Happiness at Shandong Heavy Industry." The entire Group must work together and coordinate efforts, take a systematic approach, strengthen institutional design, refine reform measures and drive the industrial workforce reform agenda through to effective implementation.

Group leaders and department heads; Party organization secretaries, deputy secretaries responsible for relevant work and trade union leaders from affiliated companies; personnel responsible for industrial workforce reform and skilled talent management; recipients of the National May 1 Labor Medal; and award-winning representatives of the "Heavy Industry Craftsmen" attended the meeting.

The "Heavy Industry Craftsmen" also visited the SINOTRUK Commercial Vehicle Plant, the model worker and craftsman studios, and the Shandong Heavy Industry Future Technology Exhibition Hall, where they exchanged techniques, learned from one another and worked together to improve their skills.
